Welcome!

My career in the educational system has been quite varied to say the least. I have worked with academically gifted high school students, students who were not able to succeed in the traditional high school setting and students in their freshmen and sophomore year in college. Students who “fell through the cracks” became my priority.

My present position as GED Chief Examiner only reinforces my desire to help people find their niche or at least a place in which they are comfortable and can support themselves and a family. I know that I want to be involved either on the direct service level or administrative level in helping people find a way that is within their ability to make a living. Being involved in the startup of a charter high school for dual enrollment and allied health and technical careers was an exciting experience and I saw first hand how successful students can be when they are working toward a goal in which they can see real world outcomes.

It was quite by accident that I found the Ph.D. in Career and Workforce Education website, but when I did, I just knew it was the logical next step in my career.
